Rare 2013 vintage. The well aged wine has seductive dark fruit flavors of black cherry and plum, along with vanilla and cedar notes. These are often accompanied by underlayers of herbs, tobacco, licorice, and red fruit. In Partner Winemaker Alex Larsons hands Merlot is more restrained and less full bodied than the Cabernet creations.1982 graduate of the California Culinary Academy he was trained in French Wines which Merlot is even though the grape in question is grown in California.  Merlot is designed to balance with the food in a counterpoint in a dining experience of sensations and flavors.
